About GVS

My name is Carlos Sanchez, and I am the founder and principal designer of GVS Custom Designs. In the beginning of 2024, I made decision to begin planning and building GVS Custom Designs behind closed doors. Leaving the New York City Department of Corrections after 9 years, was a decision that came with a lot of risk, judgement, disapproval from loved ones, and overall stress. However, after essentially close to a year building the brand, on December 1st, 2024, at 5:01am GVS was officially launched.

From that moment till even today and I guarantee tomorrow, the mindset of "Failure Will Never Be an Option" has yet to bend, fold or break. A Successful 2025 thus far quickly followed, acquiring successful projects from as small as a powder room to new construction residential builds to a new development project of condos in Johnstown, PA. GVS stands for Gianna Victoria Sanchez, this is my daughters initials, she is the reason why I will never give up, this will never end, and she will be the one to reap each benefit I provide for her Future.

This is just the beginning, No Surrender, No Retreat is the motto, designing through pain is the process, Gianna's Freedom in her future is the end result.

Experience

Do I have a Prestigious University following my name? No, however, have I won projects over other Architects with those same Universities next to theirs? Yes, and not from price perspective either, in fact my fee was indeed slightly higher than one of the contenders for one of these wins.

Truthfully, I hold a ton of respect for this industry and the visionary's that came before me; however, I believe the delivering the perfect design concepts, performance in the build, and overall aesthetic can be achieved with attention to detail, humanizing the client and their needs by actively listening, and quite frankly, actually caring about the finished outcome, makes all the difference.
